Republicans in Michigan are planning to deceive the public into thinking they support an increase in minimum wage for tipped workers. In reality they want to avoid a public ballot initiative because they can't undo it once the people have spoken this November—but they can reverse a bill they previously passed. It's all part of a plan to sow confusion and disempower voters in Michigan, and it will happen unless a national spotlight is put on Michigan before a vote scheduled for just after Labor Day—we have less than one week to act!

We the People of the Global Community encourage the United States to act as a mediator seeking peaceful resolution in Ukraine and between Ukraine and Russian Federation. We do not encourage the use of force in Ukraine as it will destabilize the region and radiate out to involve other regions, including the United States. We encourage the Secretary of the United States, John Kerry to contact the Supreme Council of Ukraine, and advise them to void the decree sanctioning military operations in Southern and Eastern Ukraine. We encourage the E.U, the Russian Federation, Ukraine and United States to respect and work to implement the tenets and agreements of the Geneva Agreement of 17 April 2014, and other such peaceful, transparent agreements as they become necessary to be made in order to ensure de-escalation of the crises in Ukraine. U.S., Russia, E.U. Ukraine should endeavor on behalf of their peoples mediate in good faith, transparently, without any hidden agenda toward a peaceful diplomatic resolution in Ukraine. This is the only way to resolve this crisis.

Senators who use the Filibusters will: 1. Stand on the floor of the Senate and tell the people of the United States what it is they are filibustering against. 2. A filibuster will be limited to 24 hours 3. At the conclusion of the 24 hour time frame, the Senate will vote on whether or not the Filibuster will stand, 51 votes to end. 4. If the filibuster is voted down, an immediate vote on the issue or bill will be taken by the Senate, 51 votes to pass 5. If the filibuster receive 51 votes, then the matter is sent back to committee for additional action.

The Selective Service System should be abolished. There is no need to register 18-25 year old men/sons/fathers to selective service anymore. It is a waste of tax payers money and it infringes on their freedom. It's 2013 not 1980.

I implore you to let the Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruling rejecting congressional district boundaries stand. We deserve to be fairly represented in Congress. It’s time to do the right thing and let the will of the people be heard.

The California Department of Public Health has reported a sharp rise in the incidence of pertussis (whooping cough) over the past four years, declaring this disease an epidemic in 2014. There was an outbreak of measles in 2014 as well. The Los Angeles Times and numerous other media sources have published data on vaccine rates in Southern California showing the widespread use of the “personal belief exemption” (CA Code 120365) by parents to excuse their children from mandatory vaccinations. Public health officials have tied the rise in pertussis and measles to the lowering of the vaccination rate. If this trend continues, the immunity of the entire population is threatened (known as ‘herd immunity’). Dangerous communicable diseases will spread further, and will also affect people who have been vaccinated—those with weakened immune systems, the very young, the very old, and the like. This petition seeks to address falling vaccination rates by requiring all children to be vaccinated in order to attend California schools unless they have a medical condition that precludes it.
