Stop the proposed switch from grade level centers to K-5 buildings for the 2015-2016 school year.

Send a message to franchisee John Metz and the Denny's corporate suite that restaurant employees shouldn't suffer over political sour grapes. Metz has proposed adding a 5% surcharge to all of his customers' checks to offset what he claims are increased costs due to Obamacare. He will also cut full-time employees' hours from 40 to 28 hours to avoid providing them with health insurance. If we don't feel like paying this surcharge, Metz suggests we tip his servers less to make up for the difference. Denny's employees cannot afford a 5% reduction in their tips, along with reductions in their work hours, and they shouldn't suffer simply so their boss can make a political point.

Repair the floodlights on the Bessie Carmichael K-5 Campus. These lights being non-operational presents a serious safety risk for students and staff of the after-school programs. A work order was submitted to the SF Unified School District by Principal Gotanco in September 2013 but the lights remain non-functioning.

We urge you not to strip immigrant families of their elibigilty for the Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC) in order to balance the budget on the payroll tax extension deal.

They pass between the state's upper and lower peninsulas along the bottom of the Straits of Mackinaw. Oil and water don't mix, and if the lines were to rupture, they would spill oil across the Great Lakes. Please act now and make Enbridge shut the pipeline down.

At a time when we all want to reduce our national debt, we all know spending cuts start at home and that includes our Senators and Congresspeople. Currently, both groups receive lifetime benefits for free (paid for by taxpayers) after serving only five years on the job. We cannot afford to provide our Senate/Congress with a lifetime benefits for free or after serving one or two terms in office. They will NEVER be with us as long as they have better options for healthcare and retirement that none of us regular taxpayers can even access. Let's remove this option and help reduce our national debt. Demand our Congress/Senate level the playing field and remove the burden of their healthcare/retirement from the backs of the middle class. If you want to stop paying for benefits for Congress/Senate and offer retirement benefits only to those who truly are retired, get involved now! Require Congress/Senate be unable to vote their own benefits it without a public referendum and require that they serve a minimum of four terms or twenty years before receiving such benefits AND require them to pay for their own benefits like the rest of America. The intersection of New York State County Route 23 And Five Mile Woods Road is very dangerous. Drivers turning out of Five Mile Woods Road on either side could definitely benefit from a traffic light put in place there. Route 23 is on the list for being one of the most dangerous mountain roads in New York State. Having a traffic light at that intersection would help to elevate the safety of drivers traveling in any direction on that roadway.

Dear Members of Winchester City Council, As residents of Winchester, I urge you to join with our neighboring cities and counties that have already adopted the 5¢ Disposable Plastic Bag Tax authorized under Virginia Code §58.1‑1745. This small, proven fee is one of the most effective tools available to reduce plastic litter, protect local waterways, and support a cleaner and healthier community. Plastic bags are consistently among the most common items found in community cleanups and stormwater systems. They break down into microplastics that harm wildlife, clog drainage infrastructure, and create long‑term environmental and financial burdens for our city. Communities across Virginia that have implemented this fee have seen significant reductions in plastic bag waste. The fee is fully avoidable by bringing reusable bags, and the revenue collected is restricted by state law for: • Litter prevention and cleanup • Environmental education • Providing reusable bags to low‑income residents This policy is practical, cost‑effective, and aligned with Winchester’s values of stewardship and community well‑being.
