We the undersigned, seniors, people with disabilities, our friends and families feel it is RECKLESS AND A MATTER OF WIDESPREAD NEGLIGENCE TO PUT SENIORS AND PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES WHO HAVE COMPLEX AND DELICATE CONDITIONS INTO POOR PERFORMING MANAGED HEALTH CARE PLANS.** **The report from National Senior Citizens Law Center, (May, 2012) citing the CA Department of Health Care Services' own quality assessment, shows seven plans earned a rating of 1 (poor) out of 5 stars in overall Medi-Cal performance. We feel certain that many of us will be hurt or possibly die in programs not ready to care for us. THEREFORE we demand an IMMEDIATE HALT to these demonstration projects until satisfactorily performing health care plans are selected. We also demand a SLOW DOWN to putting seniors and people with disabilities into health care plans until those plans are ready to deliver quality health care that will not hurt them! FURTHERMORE we demand immediate remedies to systemic problems in these programs that are operating for seniors and people with disabilities already enrolled and Medi-Cal managed care. This question could save a life! While researching symptoms of a Gyn nature I discovered the connection between DES exposure in the fetus. This lesson in a pharmaceuticals experiment must never be repeated. My mother, as millions others, were given this first-ever synthetic hormone when pregnant with me. It was mistakenly thought to prevent miscarriages but instead caused breast cancers in the mothers given the drug and cancers, infertility issues, and increase risks of several diseases in the daughters, sons and now grandchildren of those exposed. Yet, to date, this exposure question has not been included on any physical forms. This must change as it may have alerted my doctor to be vigilant and aggressive to any change in my body. An estimated 5 million women were given this drug in pregnancy. Adding to that number are the affected children and grandchildren. Why is the ongoing tragedy of DES not kept in the spotlight? Not only have I been affected but my children and grandchildren. DES keeps giving from generation to generation to include males such as testicular cancer and male genital deformity. So women have your significant other or sons and grandsons made aware this is not only a women's health issue but males also. As the federal government is running record deficits, would you like to see the following on a list for added revenues? (1) corporations that reap huge profits pay more tax, (2) eliminate special tax breaks for fabulously wealthy hedge fund managers; (3) eliminate oil and gas companies tax breaks; (4) eliminate tax breaks for the wealthy enacted in 2001 and 2003 that we cannot afford; (5) equalize tax rates for capital gains and dividends and those for the middle class. (5) eliminate any and all loopholes that allow corporations to avoid paying US taxes.

I am a New Orleans Register Voter hereby demand and petition that we not shift the legislative powers to white leaders to represent Orleans Districts 5 & 7, which comprises a combined 57% black population. We are demanding our rights as voters that the Louisiana Legislators retain Orleans Senate districts by keeping Senate District 7 as an Orleans majority and not producing a majority-white Orleans district for Senate District 5. We must protect our rights as voters in selecting the person of choice to represent and ensure that we retain equitable representation in our marginalized community.
