All legislators and members of the Federal and State Governments should be covered by all laws they enact that affect the general population.

What happened to your promise to respect state laws governing the use of medicial marijuana. MedMJ is not the equivalent of heroin--a schedule one substance--it relives chronic pain. Stop the crackdown. The DOJ's conduct is irrational.

We the undersigned insist that the "super committee" protect the Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Veteran's programs, and disability programs. To do that the committee must NOT PROPOSE CUTS to these programs in any way, including a change in COLA for Social Security!

Presently, individual workers pay 6.2% (4.2% in 2011) of their wages for the FICA (Federal Insurance Contributions Act) tax, which funds Social Security. Workers are required to pay these taxes on only the first $106,800 of their income. The limitation might seem like a good thing, but it's not. What it means is that more than 85% of wage earners pay FICA on ALL of their income, and that the top 15% of wage earners (those earning more than $106,800) pay FICA on only a portion of their wages. So somebody who earns $100,000 pays FICA on 100% of their wages, while somebody who earns $10 million pays FICA on only 1% of their wages. Where's the fairness in that? Urge Congress and the President to "uncap" Social Security tax limits, and require everybody to pay the same percentage into the system.

North Carolinians can still order a "Sons of Confederate Veterans" license plate which displays the Confederate Flag (Flag of the N. Va army) which is now considered a symbol of hate and racism. NC Governor needs to follow VA's lead and order the removal of this plate from the vanity plate program and not allow these plates to be renewed.

We need Congress to pass legislation that will give internet users more choices for the products and services we use. Dominant tech companies abuse their gatekeeper status to undermine human rights, distort democracy, abuse our personal data, and stifle competition. Dear Mayor Jacob Frey, The February 2, 2022 murder of Amir Locke by Minneapolis Police was just another tragic example of how MPD continues to terrorize and kill Black Minneapolitans and their communities. You misled your constituents about “banning” no-knock warrants, but more importantly, you misled them about holding MPD accountable for their brutality that disproportionately targets Black people. Time and time again, you have demonstrated that you are not capable of keeping your constituents safe. Time and time again, you have failed to confront the police force that keeps killing Black people in your city — in fact, you continue to lie and campaign on MPD’s behalf. Your complicity has had deadly consequences. It is time for you to step down from your role as mayor of Minneapolis. Standing with tens of thousands of Minneapolis residents who are tired of your administration’s lies and inactions, we are calling on you to resign. We will keep fighting until what happened to George Floyd, Amir Locke, and countless others on your watch never happens again in Minneapolis.

Your administration recently forced George Elmaraghy to resign from the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency because he was doing his job of protecting Ohio's water from coal pollution, which is also fueling climate change. We are outraged that you are putting coal industry greed over the health and well-being of our children, grandchildren, environment, and communities. We call on you to give Mr. Elmaraghy his job back immediately.
