Our state legislature needs to stop pushing a "moral" agenda and focus on real issues. Women's rights need to be protected. Abortion is not a real issue nor is contraception. Likewise, protecting bullies in our schools and allowing gays, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered students to be bullied on religious grounds is wrong. There should be no excuse for bullying anyone based on anything. Moreover, the "don't say gay" bill is nothing more than a distraction. Teachers never taught homosexuality in our schools. Every single bill our state makes, costs taxpayers thousands of dollars each. This is a waste of our tax dollars. The same money could've been used to attract new business to our state. However, these hateful bills drive away potential new business' that may have once considered to relocate to our state. So please discard the anti-gay and anti-women bills. These bills will be toxic to our state's economy if they become law.

Mitch McConnell is trying to ram through a massive expansion of the Patriot Act this week. He would give Trump's AG Bill Barr the power to look through the web browsing history of any American—including journalists, politicians, and political rivals—without a warrant, just by saying it is relevant to an investigation. We urge Congress to defeat his amendments, and instead support amendments that would greatly restrict the government's power to spy on us.

You recently signed a bill that would let businesses discriminate against LGBT people. Already there's massive protest against this terrible law, including companies pulling out of the state. This kind of backward legislation has no place in our nation. We're moving forward, towards greater equality, and Indiana needs to move forward too! That's why I am standing with thousands of Hoosiers to say, "Shame on you, Governor Pence! Repeal this law today!"

Please co-sponsor the FAMILY Act and do everything in your power to make sure paid family leave becomes a much-needed national workplace standard.

This represents over one-fifth of the US economy, and it is only the beginning of many more states prepared to join. We the people of Illinois demand from our Governor and elected officials to join this alliance!

According to the January 25 New York Times article "It's No Trump Tower, but the White House Has 'Beautiful' Phones," President Trump is continuing to use "his old, unsecured Android phone, to the protests of some of his aides." Congress must investigate the extent and implications of Trump's use of an unsecured device from the White House.

I fully support County Council Member Anita Prizio’s proposed ordinance 10781-18 to allow the public to be fully informed about where land is leased for drilling and fracking. Allegheny County communities deserve to know if new fracking wells are planned nearby. The county should support its communities by passing this ordinance.
