  • We call for a moratorium in our loudest, voter’s voices!
    We, the undersigned, support higher standards that are reasonably designed, implemented with care, and accompanied by the resources schools need to achieve them. The New York state testing program has undermined the implementation of higher standards by creating a test-driven environment that does not serve our children well. High-stakes testing continues to waste precious taxpayer dollars and student learning time.

    Keep Wheelock School open! Our school is the centerpiece of our neighborhood, and the only family oriented institution in this part of Keene. West Keene now has the High School, the Middle School, the new YMCA, Alumni field, and Wheelock Park. The only place that children and families in our neighborhood have as a center for community activity is Wheelock School. Please keep Wheelock open!

    Folks shouldn't have to pay $13 to help out in the recovery process, and many can't afford to keep volunteering. In order to facilitate residents, volunteers, and workers ability to participate in the Staten Island recovery process from Hurricane Sandy, it is urgent that the Governor of New York, MTA Bridges and Tunnels, and Mayor Michael Bloomberg enact a three-month moratorium on tolls on the Verrazano Bridge.
