We need your help to protect Hickory Hill. Without notice, the Memphis Fire Department has decided to reduce resources to protect Hickory Hill. On July 1, 2012, a second Hickory Hill fire truck is on the chopping block, Truck 26 (@ Hickory Hill and Raines Rd). This truck covers the New Direction Christian Church's Power Center, World Overcomers and Eden Square, the property formerly known as Marina Cove.

This petition is about the attempts to legislatively make it impossible for the lone abortion clinic in Mississippi to operate. After we voted down the personhood amendment last November the republican lead legislature have found a new way to target abortion and make it "abortion-free". I started this petition, because the people of Mississippi have spoken overwhelmingly against any law that makes it essentially illegal to have abortions in our state. This is another back door attempt of this legislature to get around the landmark case of roe v. Wade. This bill has passed and is in the comment stage before it goes to Governor Bryant's. Stop the Governor from redirecting $75,000,000 of ROAD HOME MONEY to the Superdome.

This act of cruelty proved disastrous for many of the dogs involved in these hunts. Since I live in the country, I see first hand how dogs are being left behind in the woods to fend for themselves or being hit by speeding vehicles trying to keep up with the pace of the hunt. Lost, forgotten, or abandoned dogs were forced to beg for food from surrounding landowners, kill wildlife to survive, or starve to death. I see at least 2 dead hunting dogs a month on the road I live on due to these lazy hunters! It's time to stop it!!

I am writing to ask you to oppose the open-pit mining bill. By now, I am sure you have heard of the bill's many shortcomings, including: *Explicitly allowing groundwater, the source of most Wisconsinites' drinking water, to be polluted. *Allowing our most sensitive wetlands to be filled in with mining waste and other materials. *Capping the amount of money that the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) can collect from a mining company for reviewing their permit. *Denying citizens the certainty of contested case hearings.
