Parents + Community Support Miss Moran: Demand Fair Treatment Against Threat of Wrongful TerminationDear Superintendent Girbach and Milan Area School Board, We, the undersigned, strongly oppose the wrongful treatment and threatened non-renewal of Sierra Moran, a devoted educator whose work has profoundly impacted her students and the Milan community. The actions taken against Sierra appear to be a blatant disregard for her legally protected rights under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and Michigan's Persons with Disabilities Civil Rights Act. This is unacceptable and undermines the values of fairness, equity, and respect required of our public institutions. Sierra has alleged that her accommodations for PTSD have been met with resistance from her administration at Milan Middle School. Despite being consistently rated as "effective," she was abruptly deemed "ineffective" without clear examples, a withheld evaluation rubric, and a lack of transparency throughout her current evaluation. She was then presented with a choice to resign or face termination—a troubling sign of potential coercion and retaliation. These decisions not only contradict her rights but also threaten to create a hostile and fearful workplace culture within the district. Legal frameworks like the ADA and FMLA are designed to protect employees with disabilities from exactly this type of behavior. Sierra’s accommodations are not only protected by the law but are a moral imperative. Moreover, public employers like school districts hold a responsibility to uphold fair practices and model accountability in their treatment of employees. Ignoring these obligations erodes trust in leadership and harms the reputation of the district as a whole. The community’s response speaks volumes: parents, students, and advocates have expressed outrage over the apparent discrimination and bullying Sierra has faced. But many also fear retaliation for speaking out — a sign of a toxic environment that must be addressed. By terminating Sierra, the administration will send a dangerous message to employees: seeking accommodations for disabilities will lead to punishment. It also sends a chilling message to students with disabilities — that their needs are not welcome, and their rights are negotiable. This is a message we cannot allow to stand. We urge the administration and the Board of Education to take the following actions immediately: 1. Renew Sierra Moran’s contract for the 2025 - 2026 school year and allow her to continue serving the students of the district without reprisal. 2. Conduct a transparent, third-party review of the actions leading to Sierra’s threat of non-renewal, including her evaluations and the resistance to her accommodations. 3. Provide mandatory training to all district administrators and evaluators regarding FMLA, ADA, and disability discrimination laws to prevent such incidents in the future. Sierra Moran has made a lasting impact on countless students, families, and colleagues, and has the legal and ethical right to do her job without fear of retaliation or discrimination. We demand accountability, fairness, and a thorough review of the misleading, inaccurate accusations made by her evaluator, Brad Baden, Milan Middle School Assistant Principal. If you're able, please attend the public hearing to speak up for Sierra: Wednesday, June 4th at Milan HS in the Central Office Board Room at 7pm https://www.facebook.com/share/16ji2F5M5W/426 of 500 SignaturesCreated by Rachel Grit

Safe Streets for Bergen CountyDear Mr. Tedesco and County Officials, I understand that a Local Safety Action Plan (LSAP) has been developed for Bergen County and is currently in the process of being considered by the County, with a planned adoption in early 2026. I am writing today to express my support for the adoption of this LSAP in the strongest possible form to ensure the safety of all road users, and urge the County to push for actual infrastructure changes, including but not limited to curb bump-outs, raised crosswalks, and protected bike lanes; not just signs and paint. Our roadways are public spaces meant for everyone to use, and should not prioritize drivers above the safety of all other users, as they too often do today. Active transportation and public transit need to be a larger part of our overall transportation network in the future, and that cannot happen without significant changes to our infrastructure. The LSAP that is currently under consideration is a vital tool in the process of making that happen. Some changes may take time, but there are many that can be done quickly and cheaply. The county should begin implementing as many of these solutions as possible in the short term while working towards a longer-term vision with more permanent infrastructure changes. Some examples of safety improvements that can be implemented quickly are: Quick build traffic calming: https://visionzeronetwork.org/use-these-tools-to-save-lives/ Installing plastic flex posts and armadillos offers a quick, low-cost way to calm traffic now, with the option to replace them with permanent infrastructure when the roadway is resurfaced during regular maintenance. They can be used to implement curb extensions, centerline hardening, chicanes, bike lanes, and other proven safety countermeasures that make our roads safer and more accessible for everyone. Leading Pedestrian Intervals (LPI): https://highways.dot.gov/safety/proven-safety-countermeasures/leading-pedestrian-interval LPIs require nothing more than adjusting the timing of a light to give pedestrians a head start during light changes, thus making them more visible to drivers. It provides a meaningful safety improvement for pedestrians and should be widely implemented around Bergen County. The county should take a leading role in promoting the adoption of safety improvements wherever possible and enable towns to implement improvements on county roads in their towns so as to not overwhelm county engineering resources while still providing improvements on a timeline that matches the need. Furthermore, the County should formally commit to Target Zero by 2040 to be aligned with the state of New Jersey and adopt a Complete and Green Streets Policy. Safer infrastructure benefits all of us; it saves lives while promoting active transportation. This directly supports the mental and physical health of our residents, both in the form of exercise and reduced pollution from cars, promotes the health of our planet by reducing the emissions that are fueling the climate crisis, and promotes affordability by dramatically reducing transportation costs for residents and municipalities alike while stimulating local economies. Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to seeing future changes that improve safety for all road users.71 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Patrick DiRoma

We must invest and build Affordable Housing!Mayor Daniel Lurie, Senator Scott Wiener, Assemblymen Matt Haney, Board of Supervisors In 2018 the SFMTA created the Potrero Yard Working Group, a diverse group of neighbors, stakeholders and SFMTA employees to plan for the modernization of the Potrero Yard at 17th & Mariposa in San Francisco’s Mission District. This working group worked tirelessly to deliver a new modern bus barn and 465 affordable housing units for seniors, families, the homeless and city workforce. This project received input from thousands of individuals with 1,100 surveys completed and over 3,700 subscribers to project updates. We have an affordable housing crisis in San Francisco and housing is the key element of the Potrero Yard. This message was heard loud and clear from all the outreach completed over the past seven years, making affordable housing a priority. The SFMTA, along with massive community support, received entitlement approval from the Planning Commission and Board of Supervisors in 2025. The SFMTA recently announced a budget deficit of $307 Million. The SFMTA decided to reduce the amount of housing that could be built in the yard to 100 units, losing 365 units. We are asking the city and state to invest the $70 million needed to build the platform above the bus barn which will secure building 365 affordable housing units in the future that is desperately needed in San Francisco. We will never reach our Regional Housing Needs Allocation (RHNA) goals of 82,000.00 with 46,598.00 being affordable if we do not invest, plan or strategize to build housing that has been advocated for by all our city and state representatives. The housing element ratified by the City of San Francisco and the State of California states: | 8.1.10 | By January 2026, the Interagency Housing Element Implementation committee (see Action 4.1.4) will assess if the city has approved the appropriate housing units by income level to meet the RHNA goals. If the City is behind the pro rata affordable housing production goals the Interagency Housing Element Implementation committee should trigger: - Increase of additional City funding for affordable housing and pursuit of additional State funding - Increase the land banking strategy to accommodate 50 percent more affordable housing units than the capacity of the sites acquired from 2022 through 2025 The city will implement these actions in consultation with HCD. We must work collaboratively and swiftly to not lose the opportunity to build 365 affordable housing units in San Francisco and stop the displacement of our residents. Lawrence Community Support AlliancePetition to Sheriff Armbrister– Reaffirm Your Commitment to Protect Our Community, Oppose HB2771 To: Sheriff Armbrister, Douglas County County Sheriff’s Office From: Concerned Residents of Douglas County Date: March 20, 2026 Subject: Withdraw Support for HB2771 and Uphold Your Commitment to Keep ICE Out of Our Local Jail Dear Sheriff Armbrister, We, the undersigned residents of Douglas County, are writing to remind you of the commitment you made to oppose any entanglement between our local law enforcement and federal immigration enforcement. We appreciate your past leadership in keeping our community safe for everyone. However, we are deeply alarmed by the introduction of HB2771, a state bill that would force county sheriffs to comply with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detainers and mandates local law enforcement’s participation in federal deportation efforts. As you are aware, ICE operations are endangering citizens and non-citizens alike, eroding trust in local law enforcement, and triggering costly law suits against local authorities cooperating with ICE. We recognize that you have historically opposed involving our county jail in ICE matters. We are calling on you to stand firm in that commitment and to take immediate action to oppose this dangerous legislation. We ask that you: 1. Publicly reaffirm your opposition to HB2771 and clarify that Douglas County will not expand its role in immigration enforcement beyond what is legally required. 2. Work within the Kansas Sheriffs’ Association to formally withdraw any support for HB2771 and encourage other sheriffs to do the same. 3. Refuse to voluntarily enter into any 287(g) agreements with ICE, even if HB2771 becomes law, and advocate for the full repeal or veto of this bill. Why We Oppose HB2771: ● It Undermines Community Trust: When immigrants fear that a routine encounter with law enforcement could lead to deportation, they are less likely to report crimes, cooperate with investigations, or seek protection as victims or witnesses. This makes everyone less safe. ● It Violates Local Control: HB2771 strips county commissioners of their oversight role and pressures sheriffs into compliance with federal immigration enforcement, eroding the principle of local decision-making. ● It Exposes the County to Legal and Financial Risk: While the bill promises state coverage for certain judgments, it also opens the door to costly civil rights litigation and habeas corpus actions, diverting resources away from public safety. ● It Mandates Detention Without Criminal Charges: The bill requires sheriffs to hold individuals for up to 48 hours based solely on an ICE detainer request, even in the absence of criminal charges—raising serious constitutional concerns. Sheriff Armbrister, you have said in the past that our jail should not be an extension of ICE. We are asking you to stand by that promise. We urge you to use your voice and your influence within the Kansas Sheriffs’ Association to oppose HB2771 and protect the trust between law enforcement and the communities we serve. We are watching this issue closely, and we expect you to act in accordance with the values of safety, fairness, and local control you have championed.586 of 600 SignaturesCreated by Lawrence Community Alliance

#ProtectTRIO - Protect Federal TRIO Programs – Our Students’ Futures Depend on ItWe, the undersigned, urge Congress to reject the White House’s proposal to eliminate funding for the Federal TRIO Programs in the Fiscal Year 2026 budget. These programs have opened doors for millions of hardworking Americans—providing access to higher education, opportunity for advancement, and the tools to build a better future. TRIO programs serve over 800,000 Americans each year. From rural towns to urban centers, TRIO creates pathways to college and careers for students who work hard and deserve a shot at success. TRIO is a proven, strategic investment in America. These eight (8) federal programs help students from working-class families, veterans, and those with limited resources reach their educational goals and contribute fully to our nation’s economy and workforce: 1. Upward Bound (UB) 2. Upward Bound Math-Science (UBMS) 3. Veterans Upward Bound (VUB) 4. Talent Search (ETS) 5. Student Support Services (SSS) 6. Educational Opportunity Centers (EOC) 7. Ronald E. McNair Postbaccalaureate Achievement Program (McNair) 8. Training Program for Federal TRIO Staff For over 50 years, TRIO has earned bipartisan support in Congress because it delivers results for American families, communities, and the economy. The results speak for themselves: • Upward Bound students are more than twice as likely to earn a bachelor’s degree by age 24 than peers in the lowest income quartile. • Student Support Services participants are 47% more likely to complete a two-year degree or transfer, and 18% more likely to earn a bachelor’s degree than similar nonparticipants. • Talent Search students are 33% more likely to enroll in college than others from similar backgrounds. • Veterans Upward Bound participants are 42% more likely to earn a bachelor’s degree within six years. • McNair Scholars are 78% more likely to enroll in graduate school than similarly situated low-income college graduates. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, students from the highest-income families are four times more likely to earn a college degree than their lowest-income peers. TRIO helps close that gap through practical, results-driven support—not theory. Beyond individual success stories, TRIO yields economic benefits through increased earnings, reduced dependency on public programs, and stronger participation in the workforce. It’s not just effective—it’s smart economic policy. But now, these life-changing programs are at risk. Congress is finalizing the FY26 federal budget now. If we don’t act, these opportunities may disappear for hundreds of thousands of students. If TRIO is eliminated: • Students will lose vital academic, financial, and career support. • Families across America will lose one of the few reliable pathways to higher education. • Our nation will lose out on talent, innovation, and hard work that fuels our future. We call on Congress to fully fund the Federal TRIO Programs in FY26. TRIO opens doors. It builds futures. It drives American success. What can you do? • Sign this petition and make your voice heard. • Call or email your members of Congress and demand full support and funding for TRIO. • Share this with your networks—your classmates, colleagues, community leaders, and alumni. Whether you’re a student, parent, educator, veteran, policymaker, or proud supporter of opportunity—this fight belongs to all of us. TRIO is an investment in Americans—and in America. Support access. Create opportunity. Invest in America. #TRIOWorks #DefendTRIO #InvestInAmerica #OpportunityForAll616 of 800 SignaturesCreated by #ProtectTRIO #TRIOworks

Tell DC Council: ICE OUT OF DC!Dear Councilmember, Just last year, the District of Columbia was a sanctuary city where ICE was responsible for its own mission without active support from local police. That ended in September 2025, with Mayor Bowser's executive order 2025-090 and her words of thanks for President Trump's federal surge. Since then we've routinely seen MPD Officers and other District law enforcement working hand in glove with ICE and other federal agents who use racial profiling to harass and kidnap our neighbors and traumatize little children. There is a mountain of video evidence and we will not accept any more denials from DC officials. We've seen federal agents use flash bang grenades in our neighborhoods, shoot into cars, put children in handcuffs, and carry weapons of war that have no place on our streets. These agents are nameless and unaccountable, wearing masks, driving unmarked cars - often with no license plates in clear violation of DC laws. Families of color are being targeted. From pre-K and up, our kids are terrified of ICE taking them or their loved ones away. Worst of all, the Federal agents involved in the murder of Alex Pretti, Renee Good, Keith Porter Jr, Silverio González and others have not been held accountable. For all we know, one or more may now be working the streets of DC, possibly with an MPD escort. And because MPD has refused to answer questions from the DC Council, there is far too little transparency or accountability. MPD has lost our trust and many of us are afraid to call for help when we need it. To date, only a handful of DC Council Members have used their voices and their power to demand accountability for ICE and the other federal agents occupying our city. This is unacceptable. As DC voters choose a new generation of leaders, we demand you DO MORE: • We demand an immediate vote on legislation that will ban MPD collaboration with ICE and Federal agents assaulting our neighbors and trampling on our rights. • We demand you speak out against ICE’s brutality and speak up for the rights of everyone who lives and works in DC. • We demand immediate information about whether the agents involved in the murders of Alex Pretti and Renee Good are now or have ever worked in DC. • We demand full accountability for any federal agents who break DC’s laws. ICE Accountability: Justice for Carlos MendozaVIDEO WITH ALL SCREENSHOTS AND RECEIPTS: https://youtu.be/UVz36F31900 ATTN The Office of Governor Gavin Newsom The Office of Attorney General Rob Bonta The Office of Senator Adam Schiff The Office of Senator Alex Padilla The Office of Representative Josh Harder The Office of Representative Adam Gray The Office of Representative Doris Matsui The Office of Representative Ilhan Omar The Office of Representative Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez The Office of Representative Summer Lee The Office of Representative Adriano Espaillat The following letter is addressed to elected officials across California, who we ask for your support as constituents, and to elected officials across the country who we ask to join us in the calls for justice for Carlos Mendoza. The morning of Tuesday, April 7, 2026, federal immigration agents opened fire on my fiancée, Carlos Ivan Mendoza Hernandez, in our hometown of Patterson, California. ICE agents brutally and unjustly shot several rounds at Carlos, leaving him with life-threatening injuries. For weeks, we didn’t know how many bullets were shot; or even where all of the bullets hit until I saw the wounds in person at a detention facility. Carlos is a father, a fiancée, a friend, a neighbor, and a Californian who has been treated with a level of indignity I did not know was possible. His family has little to no access to reliable information about his condition, the specific circumstances of April 7, and the future of his safety. While in custody, Carlos has been transferred at least five times to facilities all over the state of California, all without notice to the people who love him. Carlos deserves better. Our communities deserve better. We live in fear of the violence that Carlos faced. I pen this letter as Carlos’ loving fiancée, Cindy, joined by the signatures below representing Americans outraged by our family’s story. We, the undersigned, have several asks. Requests that are not only possible, but truly the baseline of human dignity. • We request that Carlos Mendoza’s medical records and treatment plan be released to Carlos’ family. • We request a full and accurate account of the incidents of April 7. How many shots were fired, how many officers fired them, and how many bullets hit Carlos, and where. • We request the release of the full, untrimmed video of the shooting, including audio, which the FBI currently has access to. • We request footage from the two cars that captured video, street cameras, and any additional footage captured on April 7. • We request an explanation for why Carlos was transferred between facilities. • We request an explanation for any coordination between ICE and the Turlock Police Department. • We request an explanation for why Carlos was released from an intensive care unit, before he was healthy enough to be outside of a medical facility. • We request a procedure for how families can contact family members detained by the California City Detention Center, the facility where Carlos is currently being held. This letter is addressed to you because you have the power to deliver justice for our family. We are lost, begging for information, and picking up bread crumbs. We know that Carlos’ case is not unique. The violence that our family has faced is not unique. We need more transparency, more accountability, and safer futures for our community. I trust that you hear us. We are happy to be in conversation with you at any time in reference to these requests or Carlos’ case in general.7,656 of 8,000 SignaturesCreated by Ian Lightfoot

UNM Follow Through With Climate Commitments! To the University of New Mexico Board of Regents and President Garnett Stokes: We, the undersigned students, faculty, alumni, staff, and community members, urgently call on you to take clear, immediate, and effective action to address the rapidly worsening climate crisis to confront its impacts on our university, our state, and our future. The evidence is undeniable. New Mexico is already living through the consequences of climate chaos—historic drought, deadly wildfires, extreme heat, and vanishing water supplies. These impacts aren’t distant projections–they are disrupting lives, threatening public health, and deepening inequalities across our communities. We are calling for accountability as UNM released its first Climate Action Plan in 2009, with a goal of reducing 80% of 2006-level emissions by 2030. However, recent inventories show only an 11% reduction, demonstrating that UNM is not on track to meeting its original goal. The UNM Sustainability Strategic Plan launched in 2025 has an updated goal of a 45% reduction in emissions by 2030. The university must stay on track or surpass this goal to contribute to climate targets of limiting warming on Earth at 1.5°C or well below 2°C, as to avoid the most severe and irreversible impacts of the climate crisis. Therefore, we urge you to: 1. Successfully execute the Sustainability Strategic Plan and achieve at minimum, a 45% reduction in campus emissions by 2030. As outlined in the plan, this will be achieved primarily through a transition of the campus operations to renewable energy. We emphasize the importance of prioritizing energy sources with the least extractive impacts to Indigenous and frontline communities and lands. 2. Create a formal plan and timeline to achieve Carbon Neutrality, no later than 2050, including yearly progress reports from the Office of Sustainability. Within this plan, we expect you to include the full divestment of the University's holdings in the fossil fuel industry. Additionally, in mitigating remaining emissions, we encourage you to invest into maintaining and expanding local carbon sinks (campus arboretums, Rio Grande Bosque, etc.) rather than relying on market-based mechanisms, such as carbon credits. 3. Establish and maintain a permanent Sustainability Advisory Council and Sustainability Corps by Fall 2026 that ensures involvement of students, community members, staff, faculty, alumni, and experts in climate-related decision making processes and advocacy work. 4. Protect and Uplift Student Organizing and Free Speech, including the members of UNM Leaders for Environmental Action and Foresight (LEAF), the Sustainable Design Collective (SDC), Lobo Gardens Club, UNM for Justice in Palestine (UNM4JP), Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlán (MEChA), Kiva Club, Students Demand Action, and other student activist groups as an essential component of UNM’s climate response. As a first step, we urge you to preemptively reject the Trump administration’s Compact for Academic Excellence in Higher Education, and any future attempts that would limit student organizing and free speech on campus. We recognize that decarbonizing an institution as large as UNM requires resources, coordination, and long-term planning while paying close attention to environmental justice issues in the process. However, we believe as the flagship public university in New Mexico, UNM has a profound responsibility—not only to educate but to lead. The actions you take will define whether our institution is a beacon of justice and sustainability or a bystander in the face of crisis. This is a pivotal moment. The decisions you make today will shape the world we inherit tomorrow. We do not have the luxury of delay. The climate emergency is here—and so are we. With hope and urgency, The undersigned students, faculty, alumni, and community members327 of 400 SignaturesCreated by UNM Leaf
