  • Car alarm ban
I live on a busy avenue in Manhattan filled with all the predictable street noises you can imagine--and then some. The worst is the car alarms that go off 24/7, sometimes set off simply by a passing truck or motorcycle--with absolutely NO ONE to attend to them or pay attention, except me. Please add your vote to mine to force auto makers to discontinue these noxious devices as standard equpment on autos.

  • Replace Race on Government Applications
Over the past 30 years, advances in genetics and Human migration research, have taught us that each of Man's Ethnic branches are connected to the same Human Family Tree (1). We now know that all of Mankind's oldest and deepest roots are grounded in Africa, and that consequently, every Ethnicity's oldest ancestor was Black (1). If it makes no sense to categorize dogs and cats into different Races, based upon the color of their fur or shape of skull, then surely we can abandon this misguided and divisive notion as being applicable to People today (2). I propose that the construct of “Many Ethnicities; One People ” is most congruent with the overwhelming, Human migration research (3). By properly distinguishing Ethnicity from Race, each individual and group can embrace their unique, cultural heritage, and ultimate inclusion into the Human Family (3). From children's books to data collection, I believe that it is time to mainstream the scientifically supported “One Human Family” truth into our educational, business and social communities (3). PLEASE complete the form below to sign a petition urging your local Representative to pass legislation which replaces the historical blunder and senselessness of racial categorization with accurate and flexible Ethnic options on all government forms and public matters. Since we all come from the same root, any term indicative of "race" is simply obsolete. • Tell Our Presidential Candidates that Young People Care about Addressing Our Alzheimer's Crisis: ...
The Youth Movement Against Alzheimer's (YMAA) is asking presidential candidates to speak truth to the crisis that Alzheimer's presents and provide the following solutions during the remaining debates: Invest in Better Care: We want to increase support and available resources for family caregivers with a particular focus on the growing number of young adult caregivers. Invest in a Cure: We support increasing federal funding for Alzheimer's and dementia research. Harness the Power of Volunteers: We promote the use of volunteerism to fight ageism and promote healthy aging. Give Caregivers a Break: We advance economic and workforce policies that ease the economic hardship of caregiving on young people and their families. Promote an Early and Accurate Diagnosis: We believe in the importance of early detection of Alzheimer’s and other dementias by encouraging early assessment, proactive brain health across the lifespan, and improved training and access to diagnostic tools among health providers. This gives families more time to take action and plan for better care. Sign the petition to demand that presidential candidates support solutions for Alzheimer's and young caregivers. If we don’t provide for them, they can’t provide for society.

  • END HEALTH CARE CRISIS IN TEXAS - EXPAND MEDICAID
Texas is facing a health care crisis, and needs your help. Working on the front lines of health care, you see the problems every day: millions in our state are uninsured, and our hospitals cannot, and would not, turn anyone away because they cannot pay. So, we are left with the burden of uncompensated care, which further strains already depleted resources and the uninsured are left with a broken system that forces them to delay care and end up sicker. But there is a solution. By opting to expand Medicaid coverage, Texas will receive federal funds to help cover many of the 6.2 million uninsured in our state. We desperately need these funds to keep up with the health care needs of our community.
