Pass legislation to require that mammography reports include a statement disclosing breast density.
Why is this important?
When the Florida legislature returns for the regular 2013 session (March 5, 2013 – May 3, 2013) it will again consider proposed legislation (Senate Bill 126 and House Bill 79) to require that mammography reports include a statement disclosing breast density. Depending on a woman’s risk factors, being informed of the presence of dense breast tissue affords the opportunity to seek additional testing and possibly early diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer.
