Senate Bill S.809, the "Genetically Engineered Food Right-to-Know Act"
Congress has been given erroneous and misleading information by the Genetically Modified Organism (GMO) industry which will cause Congress to stall the bill in committee or vote in the industry's favor against the labeling of GMOs. We are simply asking Congress for federal standardized labeling of our foods so we can make informed choices on what we feed our families, otherwise we are dining in the dark.
Why is this important?
We all are affected by the foods we eat and we need to have all the information about our food in order to make informed decisions. Federal standardized labeling will be helpful in providing that information. To my knowledge, the bill is still in committee, and I would like to get the bill before the full Senate during the 114th Session, which requires action now.
