Senate: Pass the Voting Rights Amendment Act!

Some fifty years after the passage of the Civil Rights Act, and two years after re-electing an African-American presidents, Americans are still being denied or blocked from their right to vote because of their race.

The Voting Rights Amendment Act has been battling its way up for years now, crafted by a bipartisan group of lawmakers to restore voting protections by expanding the Justice Department's ability to monitor polls, make states hold to laws within 180 days of an election, and freeze discriminatory voting changes in jurisdictions with a recent history of voting rights violations.

Call on your senators to pass the VRAA now!

Why is this important?

This bill is the best way for us to strengthen the voting rights that are fundamental to a healthy, vibrant democracy.
