Senators who accept contributions resulting from actions or endorsements of Donald Trump are basically potential jurors who are being bribed. They must recuse themselves from any impeachment trial.
Why is this important?
A defendant must not be allowed to bribe potential jurors. Potential jurors who have accepted anything, directly or indirectly, from a defendant, must not be allowed to serve on a jury for that defendant.
