Service For All
I support requiring every citizen 18 to 25 years of age serve the United States of America for two years. This program will be administered by the Federal Corporation for National & Community Service [Serve.gov) which will partner with each person to select an appropriate service. A partial list of options are:

-- Citizen Corps
-- Military
-- Peace Corps
-- Serve America
-- U.S. Agency for International Development
-- Volunteer.gov
No one, however, will be required to select the Military against their wishes. Citizens who are 18 to 25 years of age, inclusive, will serve unless they are enrolled in high school or in a 4-year college degree program. Exceptions will be made for reasons of physical or mental limitations.

Why is this important?
Bolster pride in our country by giving citizens the experience of personally investing in America and in the world. Too many grow to maturity never knowing the satisfaction of personally giving their time and skills to directly benefit humankind and country. Ask anyone who has given of themselves in this manner and they will tell you that their service was the hardest job they ever loved, and personally life-altering for the better. We can show other nations that we are a country and a people who care about others, our country, and our world.
