I believe that ex-military service men and women who have gotten out of the military with either a honorable or general discharge should receive the same privileges as retired or 100% disabled veterans when it comes to shopping on military installations. Most veterans that I have come into contact with either got out of the military honorably by doing their contracted time or were forced out of the military or had to get out of the military for medical reasons and some veterans received general discharges, which in either case veterans still left with disabilities due to military service. These veterans should also be allowed to shop on military installations because of their services to our country. It is not fair to restrict those privileges to two groups of veterans and not consider the other veterans whom received honorable and general discharges that have served our great country the United States of America.

Why is this important?

I am starting this petition because I have family members who are veterans, friends who are veterans, and work for and with veterans who have received honorable and general discharges and wish they could get the same privileges of shopping on military installations due to their service to the United States of America. Some folks could not make it to retirement status due to disabilities, which they do not receive 100% compensation for and some may have had a family member that they needed to care for because their superiors would not grant a hardship for. Please take this petition and consider it. Veterans deserve to be treated equally and veterans who do not have dishonorable discharges deserve military installations privileges
