Should America care about the medical cost for Obese Children?

Since childhood obesity is growing in epedimic proportion, and the cost for treatment continue to skyrocket, should programs with a proven success record for treatment that leads to prevention of this problem continue to be funded, or should we wait to pay more for treatment when the child becomes an adult?

Why is this important?

Childhood obesity is growing in epidemic proportion, and the cost of treating obese children is skyrocketing. Would people want to see programs that address the needs of obese children through FQHC's (Federally qualified Healthcare Centers) that is in place and working continue to be funded when there is a proven record of success in the treatment of obese children?
