Show Respect for Our President
Congressional representatives: Vigorous debate and disagreement are germane to our system of government; however, you can disagree publically without being disrespectfulI to the president.
Members of the media: You have the responsibility of reporting on acts of disrespect. In addition to remaining respectful yoursleves, you need to offer challenging inquiry to those who behave disrespectfully.
When acts of disrespect fall into the category of racism, both of the above groups need to characterize these acts as racist.

Why is this important?
President Obama has been the target of more disrespectful public acts than any president in recent history. Examples include the "birther" fabrication and the flaunting of racist signs at rallies. Sign a petition to congressional representatives and members of the media requesting that they behave respectfully toward the President and the office of the presidency.
