Sign Up for LGBT Class Action Lawsuit to Repeal Texas's Same-Sex Marriage Ban
Please sign this petition if you and your spouse have been married in a state that recognizes same-sex marriages, but you reside in Texas. We are looking for LGBT couples who are denied any basic rights by Texas. If this is you and your spouse/significant other, then please sign to become involved in a class action lawsuit against the state of Texas.

Why we are creating this petition:
San Antonio has the largest percentage of same sex couples raising kids in the nation.
Houston ranked seventh and Dallas-Fort Worth ranked twelfth with same sex couples raising kids.
The amendment of Texas's state constitution in Article 1, Section 32, which bans same-sex marriage is a violation of the due process, equal proection, and full faith and credit clauses of the US constitution. We plan to sue on these grounds.
The "Full Faith and Credit Clause", addresses the duties that states within the United States have to respect the "public acts, records, and judicial proceedings of every other state."
Let's stand together and show Texas that we deserve our rights as protected by the U.S. Constitution.

Why is this important?
I married my husband July 24th 2013 in NY, on the two year aniversery of marriage licenses being isseued to same-sex couples in that state. My marriage to my husband is not recognized by the state of Texas. This denies us many rights. For example, to insure myself it costs $22/mo. To insure both of us, it costs well over $400/mo! By comparison, straight couples can insure their significant other for $60/mo. This blatant segregation must stop.
