Slipper Ban or No Recess for our Keiki

Sunset Beach Elementary School is requiring that all students must wear, “Closed-toed, Closed-heeled, flat soled shoes to participate in recess activity.” This is not only an assault on our culture and lifestyle but should not be permitted to be part of our dress code because it does not represent the majority views of the community, it places an undue financial burden on students and parents, and does not respect the constitutional rights of the individuals it targets.
