We have a great opportunity in the Nation to recapture wasted energy and curb global warming. Small Businesses operate with absentee landlords. There is no incentive for a building to get weatherized or upgraded because the tenant pays the energy bill. So these are the last places to reclaim wasted energy. We need a government incentive like President Jimmy Carters Residential Conservation Service did for homeowners.
Why is this important?
President Jimmy Carter signed empowered our utilities with the Residential Conservation Service. That service saved homeowners many dollars. A similar service could be created for our small business owners and ease the lose of wasted energy.
