SML Proposed Law Change
Issuance of license:
Sec. 180.055 (d)...(1) Current.... outstanding judgment can be held against an individual for up to 20 years. Proposed change to max of 3 years making it equivalent to State Statues of bankruptcy's and foreclosures.
Section 108.055 (d)...(4) Current....pattern of serious delinquent accounts during a 3 year period (they currently including collection accounts) Proposed change, look at delinquent accounts 3 years from the original date of delinquency excluding all collection accounts on the same debt.
This will help clear up the grey area of the law pertaining to these 2 areas.

Why is this important?
These 2 areas of the Statutes are a very grey area to be interpreted by the person or department looking at the application. Once a decision has been made by anyone in that department no one will try and overturn that person's decision. This will help clarify the law.
