Government Employees including all Senators and Members of the House of Representatives have separate retirement and health care coverage from non-government American citizens. The Government plans should be discontinued and all Government Employees should have the same benefits as the majority of Americans. Having Legislators on Social Security and Medicare would ensure continous, decent funding for many generations.
Why is this important?
We keep hearing that Social Security and Medicare are too expensive to maintain at current ages and payout. For most of us, Social Security and Medicare are safety nets we need as we grow older, and most of us want the same safety nets for our children and grandchildren.
