We stand with the locked out NFL referees. Management must treat all workers fairly.
Why is this important?
NFL owners are trying to cut the pensions and benefits of their referees. But when the refs objected, the owners locked them out and brought in replacements.
Already, missed calls have altered the outcomes of some of the games. It won't be long before players start to get hurt because the replacements lose control of a game. Skill and experience go a long way in some jobs.
Some of these replacements the NFL hired had been fired from the Lingerie Football League for incompetence. Seriously.
Yes, football is only a game. But when one worker's rights are threatened, all workers' rights are threatened. The NFL's refs are our brothers in the fight for worker protections.
