To: President Donald Trump, The United States House of Representatives, and The United States Senate
Something Must Change
As a citizen of the United States, I demand that you and every other member of the three branches of our government, work to identify the first steps to changing the atmosphere in our country, where people live in danger of dying at the hands of a lunatic with a gun. I further demand that, with the greatest possible speed, you work to implement those steps while, concurrently and tirelessly, continuing, in perpetuity, to identify the next steps, and the ones that follow, in keeping with the aims set forth in the Preamble to our nation's Constitution.
Why is this important?
The government of the U. S. and all its states have a duty set forth in our country's Constitution, beginning with the Preamble--the sacred philosophical foundation of all that follows in the remainder of the document: "We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."
