South Carolina State Health Insurance to Cover ALL of Women's BASIC Health

Women need to have gynecological visits covered under their state health insurance. As of now, a woman will pay $40 for a Pap smear but nothing else is covered; meaning the office visit and the annual exam are out of pocket, which ends up costing upwards of $135 per year to have the preventative care they need on an annual visit.

Why is this important?

I am a teacher, and like most teachers, a woman who has the South Carolina State Health Plan. Women are not being given the coverage we need/deserve for our annual visit to the gynecologist. Instead, we have to pay out of pocket $135 or more. The state health insurance plan does not cover a basic visit, let alone the additional services of checking for HPV, STD's, etc. This is an issue of basic human rights, which is sickening to me and needs to be changed ASAP.
