We the undersigned residents of the South Park neighborhood of Seattle,Wa 98108 declare that our human right to safe, clean, and dignified shelter overrides the legal rights the banks may claim to our homes. Given numerous, well-documented acts of intentional fraud and profiteering culminating in a taxpayer bailout, the banks have forfeited their right to evict our neighbors and blight our community. We therefore demand a moratorium on all bank evictions within our neighborhood.
Why is this important?
The foreclosure crisis continues to grow. Loan modification programs, designed to help homeowners during this financial crisis, have only fast-tracked foreclosures and increased bank evictions.
