Speak Up Charlie!! (We can't hear you...)
Dear Governor Baker,
Since the election of Donald Trump, residents of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts have been asking you to speak out on concerns that directly affect our wellbeing. To date, your silence has been resounding.
We ask you to publicly, visibly, and vigorously denounce:
• Donald Trump’s appointment of Steve Bannon to Chief Strategist and the NSC.
• All cabinet nominees with unacceptable views on civil rights, science, and education – and those with financial or other conflicts of interest.
• All executive actions that threaten human and environmental health, healthcare, and the safety of our residents (including immigrants, Muslims, LGBTQ people).
• All Donald Trump statements and actions that oppose our democratic principles of free speech, free press, separation of powers, separation of Church and State, and transparent, ethical governance.
As you have probably heard us shout: silence is complicity.
You must speak.
