Speaker Boehner: LET THE HOUSE VOTE ON THE IMMIGRATION BILL
Speaker Boehner is single-handedly preventing the already Senate-passed immigration reform bill from coming to a vote in the House. Each day without a vote costs $5 million in immigrant detention costs alone, but that pales in comparison with the human cost of tearing 1,100 families apart each day.
Why is this important?
Because there is no way to force Speaker Boehner to allow a vote on this Bill, even though it has enough votes in the House to pass. Americans, including conservative economists, religious leaders, businesses and the AFL-CIO all support Immigration Reform. Good, hard working people can stay and we can identify the ones who should not be here through this law. Our country cannot wait any longer for economic, moral, and National Security reasons.
