Why is this important?
We have a trade imbalance that has averaged around $600 billion a year for the last decade. Why? "Free" trade brings cheap goods here to the U.S. We are facing unemployment problems here in America why? "Free" trade us putting American workers in direct competition with foreign workers making $4 and hour. If we put tariffs back up, the price or goods would go up - making it possible to produce here and giving the government the money needed to stimulate job growth, without borrowing.
