Stop acting as though the planet were infinite. It isn't, and infinite planet practices are degrading the quality of life for all Americans, as they transform our landscapes, degrade natural systems, and lead to climate change.
Why is this important?
The planet is finite. This means it has a finite capacity to give us resources sustainably, and a finite capacity to absorb our effluents (like climate-change-inducing carbon dioxide). And yet economic policy, including monetary policy, continue to assume that the planet is capable of supporting infinite growth in both.
