Stop Brookdale From Fleecing Seniors

The majority of Foundation House residents don't use the computers in the library, or connect to wi-fi, yet they will be assessed the $150 charge anyway. It will be billed in two parts, $75 on April 1,2013 and $75 on May 1, 2013. Tenants do not know where to turn for help. We currently have no executive director to make things worse. In addition, it must be noted that Brookdale operates other centers in Washington state whose residents will likely be assessed as welll. The rents charged are among the highest in the state and if they are allowed to add an unfair assessment, it would be setting a dangerous precedent, bordering on price gouging. Please stop this multi million dollar company from robbing it's senior residents.

Why is this important?

Brookdale Senior Living Inc. Notified residents of Foundation House in Federal Way WA that they would be charged $150 per year for a computer enviornment that was set in place in late 2012. Residents were not asked if they were interested, and were told there would be no cost to them, in fact the facility used the new computers and wi-fi as an enticement to prospective residents.
