Stop conversion of Saucon pool into dog shelter/police substation!

Bethlehem City has intentions of converting the pool in Lower Saucon Park, which has historic value (99 years), into a dog shelter for stray dogs combined with a police substation.

Why is this important?

Do not want a commercial structure in our historic park. The park has flooded, which would make it unsafe for the dogs. The barking dogs will disrupt the tranquility of the park setting and may stress the young children playing in the adjoining playground. The presence of a police station in a park setting may act as a deterrent for peaceful park patrons. The sight of multiple police cars in the park parking lot may cause a sense of stress and unwanted concern. We would like to see our green parks serve the community as an environment of nature and peace. Saucon Park is rich in history dating back 100 years. Please preserve the park history and find a more suitable place in an industrial area for this dog shelter/police station!
