Stop corporations from silencing you and buying elections
Do not let corporations buy elections by locking working people out of the ability to fund their candidates with Prop 32 in California. It proposes to keep "special interest" from contributing but exempts huge corporations and Wall Street, and others who have anti-middle class sentiments from the ban on contributing. Let California's legislators and governor know we will not be silenced by corporations. They are trying to silence us on the airwaves by trying to trash public TV and radio and now by making it legal for only themselves to contribute. Testing the waters to try to punish California for going Democratic in presidential races is not new to them. They put a lot of money in their successful bid to recall our legally elected governor 10 years ago to punish us. Do not think their vindictiveness and greed will stop with California. Help us send a message that Americans will not be pushed around by big corporations. Their is strength in unity. They hate that.
Why is this important?
California's Proposition 32 claims to eliminate special interests (code for Labor and Labor Unions) from contributing to elections. However this proposition is written by and for the true special special interests and specifically exempts them from it. Those who would be exempt, to name a few, are Insurance corporations, Wall Street, real estate investment corporations, oil companies, corporate CEO's. The goal of this proposition deceitfully to get you to vote to silence your own voices and to make election funding even more unequal than it is. They are targeting California because we have traditionally gone Democratic in elections, and to test the waters. They seek to cut off the flow of information to the people and money to all campaigns but those they seek to buy. Please sign this petition to tell the legislators and governor of California if you are outraged that only corporations will be able to pay to get their message out and fund campaigns. Or constitution was written for humans, this is just one more step that the ultraconservative rightwing is planning to get your name crossed off and enter the name "Big Powerful Corporation that Sends Jobs to China" on the voter rolls.
