Stop credit report requirements for job seekers
That companies (private or public) cannot require credit reports on applicants for jobs (unless the job relates to money [financial institutions (i.e., banks, savings & loans, etc.)]).
Why is this important?
Many people have been ravaged by the economic downturn, and, as a result, have lost jobs, houses, etc. With these losses come credit problems. Many companies, as a means of discrimination, are requiring credit reports on job applicants lessening their chances of getting jobs and being able to get back on their feet and provide for their families.
