Maryland contains many of the crown jewels of science. From Johns Hopkins, NIH to the University of Maryland, we have been home to dozens of Nobel laureates and have created many of the life saving treatments that have changed and saved lives.
Yet Congress, through their policy of budget sequestration, has made devastating cuts, across the board. The impact is not just on federal institutions but our state university system.
These publicly funded institutions support a vast and growing biotechnology sector in our state. We have rich community of talent here and it is now at risk.
Tell the President to veto any continuing resolution that maintain these devastating cuts.
