Stop Donald Trump's Plans to Destroy Social Security
Tell Donald Trump to keep his hands off Social Security. According to recent reports in the Associated Press Donald Trump has a plan to defund and destroy Social Security. Disguised as a Tax Cut for the middle class the Trump administration and GOP lobbyists would like to eliminate Social Security payroll contributions thereby putting the Social Security system at risk and making it easier for poiticians to cut social security in order save the government money.
Why is this important?
After the social security was enacted in 1935, Franklin Roosevelt called the payroll contributions feature "straight politics" and explained: "We put those payroll contributions there so as to give the contributors a legal, moral and political right to collect their pensions. … With those taxes in there, no damn politician can ever scrap my social security program."
