President Obama, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and Congress should join Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) along with 70 members of Congress who wrote a letter to regulators at the CFTC, urging immediate action to stop oil speculation.
Why is this important?
This petition is from American citizens who are fed up with the out-of-control spikes in gas prices every year by excessive oil speculation and market manipulation that is causing financial hardships for families and threatens the stability of the U.S. economy.
President Obama, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and Congress must act to enforce title VII of the Dodd–Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act that was signed into law by President Obama on July 21, 2010.
With this petition we are calling on President Barack Obama, the chairman of the CFTC and Congress to join Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) along with 70 members of Congress who wrote a letter to regulators at the CFTC, urging immediate action on oil speculation and stand up for the American people and enforce the law with the financial regulations that were past in 2010 in order to put an end to excessive oil speculation and market manipulation.
