This is a speech Robin O'brien recently gave regarding genetically modified food in the United States.
What I found most interesting, if true, is that studies were not done by the US government to verify the foods safety. Also, that other countries, like the UK, Australia, Canada, don't allow the GMO food to be sold. Our food companies actually sell them different food product.
Another key point is that these GMO food products, like soy, corn, etc. have been patented and growers need to pay a license fee to grow them. Interestingly, according to the speech, we federally subsidize the growers producing GMO food, but not the natural growers.
