Why is this important?
Enact a moratorium on heavy metal mining in Northern Minnesota, until there is proof that it will not pollute our precious watersheds. Sulfide (heavy metal) mining produces the worst environmental pollution in our nation. Do we want to risk our forests, lakes and streams, as well as tourist economy for the profit of mining companies?
