Stop House Republicans Bill to Charge Troops to Pay for GI Bill Benefits

According to the Military Times, House Veterans Affairs Committee Chairman Phil Roe (R-Tenn.) has drafted legislation that would charge soldiers $100 a month for access to the GI Bill. The bill would deduct a total of $2,400 from each soldier’s paycheck to make them eligible. This is an outrage. The men and woman who risk their lives for our liberty need to be protected from the sneaky, cowardly nefarious behavior of politicians. The GI Bill has been one of the most successful education programs of all time and has allowed our soldiers a chance at an education and upward mobility after they have served our country honorably. Less than 1% of the American population has served in our 15 continuous years of war. The least we can do is honor our commitment to them once they have returned home.

Why is this important?

This bill is an outrage to every American and dishonors our service men, woman and our country.
