deviantArt.com allows a practice called inline linking (alsoknown as hotlinking) which allows other wesites to display art from members without permission, without credits, and without any recourse in copyright law.

This practice allows any website to freely use and display any art or other content linked from devinatArt on their onw site. And US Copyright Law does NOT recognize this as copyright violation at all, because you cannot copyright a link. No credit need be given the creator, no link is required back to the artist, and NOTHING can be done if the artist wishes his or her work removed.

Please tell the owners and staff of deviantArt that we do not want inline linking and to either disable it completely, or provide a coice to users whether they wish to have it or not. It only takes a few lines of HTML code to disable it completely. Inline linking also wastes bandwidth on deviantArt, and can be a security risk.
