Stop killing shelter dogs!

We urge you to stop the killing of eighty-one dogs currently on the euthanasia list at the Western Riverside County shelter.

It is the policy of the state that no adoptable dogs with treatable conditions be euthanized. This policy is also clearly stated on the Riverside County Department of Animal Services website. Despite this, eighty-one adoptable dogs (either healthy or with treatable conditions such as nasal discharge), are about to be euthanized.

We urge you to take immediate action to ensure that treatable dogs are not euthanized.

Furthermore, we urge that creative solutions (not including euthanasia) be explored and implemented immediately to reduce the number of homeless animals in the Los Angeles area.
