Stop Mark Kennedy From Becoming CU's Next President

Mark Kennedy does NOT represent CU values. As a Congressman, he co-sponsored a constitutional amendment to ban marriage equality and consistently voted against a woman’s right to choose. Kennedy earned a 17% approval rating by the National Education Association, and 7% by the American Civil Liberties Union, while he got an A+ from the National Rifle Association and a 100% from the Christian Coalition. As both a politician and an educator, Kennedy has repeatedly proven that he does not care about all people/students. Because of this, he should not be leading a major public university.

Why is this important?

CU's student body is overwhelmingly progressive, and Mark Kennedy's record proves that he will not represent our collective interests. Here at CU, we value inclusion and diversity. We support LGBTQ students and staff members. The University of Colorado is the crowning jewel of the state's university system, and we will not let it be spoiled by a man who has regressive and discriminatory values. Kennedy has not earned this prestigious position, and should not be trusted in overseeing our education. It is both absurd and upsetting that the regents have allowed him to make it this far in the selection process. Records do not lie: Mark Kennedy is categorically unfit to hold the office of the presidency.
