Save Social Security Disability

Mick Mulvaney, Trump’s budget director, recently stated on tv that, while Trump would not touch Social Security, there was something called “Social Security Disability,” that they could “play with” because even though “Social Security” was in its name, it didn’t involve seniors and wasn’t what people traditionally thought of as Social Security. Social Security Disability is part of the Social Security system and the same rationale applies to Social Security Disability that applies to Social Security, i.e., people can work for years, contribute to Social Security and once they are no longer able to work, can receive Social Security Disability based upon their earlier contributions. The same social contract that provides seniors with Social Security retirement applies to people with disabilities. Please take a firm and very vocal stand against any effort by the Trump administration to cut Social Security disability.

Why is this important?

I am disabled and receive Social Security Disability. I don't know how I'd live without Social Security Disability and I'm sure there are tens of thousands others like me.
