Stop PAC (Political Action Commitees) and Special Interest Groups from Dictating Political Policy

Please support an effort to preserve our greatest democratic freedom, our right to vote and for our vote to count.

This petition is not a request to support a particular affiliation, or initiative. It is simply a petition to enable our political representatives to vote their conscience and in the best interest of their constituents, free from the influence of coercion, threat or monetary enticement.

Currently it is illegal to use coercion, threats or bribery to influence an individual’s vote. However, these same laws do not apply to Political Action Committees and Special Interest Groups and their ability to sway our political representative’s congressional votes. Our founding fathers did not intend our democracy to operate according to the dictates of political action committees, but according to the decisions of our elected representatives operating in the best interest of their constituents.

This petition asks our political leaders to pursue legislation that would make it illegal for our representative’s vote to be influenced by either coercion, threat or bribery and a first step toward protecting our greatest political freedom – our vote!

Such legislation would in effect protect our representatives from having to accept such influence from outside forces, and thus afford them the freedom to act in the best interest of their constituents.
