Pharmaceutical companies should not be allowed to advertise prescription drugs on television. The cost of buying time on TV to advertise these drugs is added to the price of the drug and passed on to the consumer. Congress can change this practice by making it illegal to advertise prescription drugs just like was done with cigarette and other tobacco products.
