To: Mark Davalos, Centralia School District Superintendent

Stop proposed cuts to Centralia 5-6th grade music (Band, Choir and Strings!)

Tell the Centralia School Board and superintendent that moving 5th and 6th band to an after-school program twice a week is not acceptable.

Why is this important?

This change would effectively destroy the Centralia Music program in a matter of years. Making it an after-school program will greatly limit how many kids are able to join, and having it only 2 times per week is not enough time to enforce the teaching necessary to help students thrive. Davalos’ plan includes band choir and strings after school. Students would be bused to two locations in the district. No ensembles during the school day.
