Without infringing on the First Amendment, can all of the media agree to not publish the identities of the killers or interviews with their families? These home-grown terrorists probably want to be famous, no matter what it takes or what the human cost might be. It seems the quickest way to do this is to perform an unspeakably horrible act of slaughtering the innocents.
The media do not publish the names of rape victims. Can this be extended to the names of mass murderers? Cut off the source of their energy and maybe they'll stop.
Why is this important?
With our voracious appetite for news, I believe we're encouraging these mass killers to one-up each other by publishing their names and backgrounds, thus allowing them to become infamous.
