STOP Sacramento Apartments from over watering this summer!
Sacramento has a huge problem with over watering in all 3 of the apartments I've lived in. During droughts, water is draining into the sewer every night. Most of us renters are students, and are also being charged for this water use, so owners do not feel the burn of the bill.
Why is this important?
I've watched enough water wasted on trying to make apartments aesthetically charming, but other ground cover that is more natural to our drought state should be used instead. There should be a limit to the amount of water used by apartment sprinkler systems - SPECIFICALLY sprinklers. They are rammed into by cars, not repaired, and not maintained well enough. Private water use is high enough. A tax incentive of a few dollars would stop this water waste easily.
