This petition is to ask the Sampson County Board of Commissioners to oppose the building of a chicken processing plant in Sampson County by Sanderson Farms and to stop recruiting Sanderson Farms.
Why is this important?
The Sampson County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously to let Sanderson Farms know, by letter, that they are interested in having a high-volume chicken processing plant built in Sampson County. The recruitment of Sanderson Farms should be stopped. Two other counties in this state have already voiced their opinion; and they do not want Sanderson Farms. We should not want them either.
